This work depicts a person who exists like a “river”, using a single wire. The water of the “river” itself is constantly flowing and changing, yet it exists as if it were the same “river”. “Life” is similar; it appears to be an existence possessing a fixed physical body, yet at the molecular level, it is a fluid existence perpetually repeating decomposition and synthesis. This is a view of life similar to the Buddhist concept of “impermanence”, and the figure of this work bears an expression reminiscent of a Buddha.

※ This is a wire drawing work created by tracing a single wire in a continuous, single-stroke manner. The two-dimensional “line” unfolds into a three-dimensional form, and when illuminated, casts shadows, thereby expanding into multiple dimensions.

本作は、まるで「川」のように存在する人物を、一本のワイヤーで描いています。「川」の水そのものは常に流れ入れ変わっているにもかかわらず、あたかも同じ「川」として存在しています。「生命」も同様で、あたかも固定化された肉体を持った存在のようですが、分子レベルに目を向けると常に分解と合成を繰り返している流動的な存在です。これは「諸行無常」のような仏教観にも通じる生命観であり、本作の人物は仏様のような表情をしています。

※　1本の針金を一筆書きの要領で描くワイヤードローイング作品です。「線」である二次元が立体的な三次元へ展開し、光を当てると影を落とすことで多次元に展開していきます。
